Neapolitan Mastiffs are remembered for that face. Bloat is the most immediate and deadly risk in the breed. Hip and elbow dysplasia are common, as is cherry eye and entropion — conditions directly related to the breed's iconic loose skin and heavy wrinkles. Cardiomyopathy appears in some lines. Skin fold infections require daily cleaning and vigilance. The maintenance of a Neo's health is a daily practice, and the loss of that routine is itself a form of grief.
